Anti-Kidnapping Unit and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Imo State Police Command have arrested the traditional ruler of Obor community in Awara, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze Andrew Okuegbunuwa, and one Pastor Caleb Agu, for alleged kidnapping. The state Commissioner of Police, Isaac Akinmoyede, who paraded the traditional ruler and eight suspected members of his gang at the command headquarters in Owerri, alleged that they were responsible for the killing of two personnel of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in the state a few months ago. The CP disclosed that four AK-47 rifles, one rifle belonging to the slain NDLEA officers, 120 rounds of live ammunition, one Lexus SUV, and other exhibits were recovered from the suspects.

The Lagos State Traffic Management, on Tuesday, said three persons died in a road accident along Iyana Dopemu road, Lagos. The PUNCH gathered that the incident happened a few minutes to 7 am. The Public Relations Officer of LASTMA, Olumide Filade, confirmed the incident.In a series of tweets, LASTMA said the accident occurred when an SUV rammed into a moving trailer.It said, “An accident (has) just (been) reported involving an SUV that rammed into a moving trailer on the fast lane shortly before Cement bus stop inward Iyana Dopemu with three casualties.

The police in Rivers State have launched a manhunt for some suspected kidnappers, who fled after a failed attempt to abduct passengers in a commercial bus on the Okehi/Igbdo Road in the Etche Local Government Area of the state.The Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Okehi Police Division responded to a distress call and rescued passengers in the bus, killing three of the hoodlums during a gun battle on Sunday.The spokesman for the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, said some of the criminals fled with gunshot wounds and that the state Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan, immediately ordered a manhunt for the hoodlums.

Two Lagos-based artistes, David Marvellous and Damilola Oladimeji, have accused some personnel of the Lagos State Police Command of alleged extortion and sexual harassment.PUNCH Metro learnt that the artistes were returning home after buying food when policemen from the Langbasa Police Station allegedly accosted them on their estate at Badore, in the Ajah area of the state.The duo told our correspondent that after their arrest, the policemen went round the estate, apprehending innocent residents while threatening to shoot anyone who resisted them.

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has released a list of items candidates are expected to bring to screening centres.

The NDA registrar, Brig-Gen Ayoola Aboaba said all candidates must have acknowledgement card among others.

Candidates are also expected to wear protective equipment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.“All the things Oshiomhole said about Ize-Iyamu in the last four years are correct and all the things Oshiomhole also said about Obaseki in the same year are also correct.

"You can see that the man Oshiomhole condemned four years ago is the same man he is parading everywhere and kneeling to beg for. No man is God," Edo PDP said.
